Transcript 0:00 Let's start with the roster, the most important list in the portal. Your roster is the write-source for who is in your battalion. Strength numbers, event registration, promotions, and property issue all read from it. If the roster is right, everything downstream is right. 0:19 Adding a cadet takes a minute. Click Add cadet, then enter the name, grade, rank, and the media consent flag. New cadets land on the active roster immediately, and the portal begins linking their account in the background. The account column shows who is linked and who is still pending. 0:40 Nobody is ever deleted from the roster. When a cadet leaves, you drop them with one of two choices. Inactivate means they may return, so the record waits in the Inactive queue. Separate means they have left the program, and the record moves to the Archive. Identity and service history are always preserved. 1:02 Now let's look at the Activity Calendar. This is one calendar for your whole chain. You see the events your battalion hosts, plus everything hosted above you at brigade, division, and Corps. Peer battalions' events stay off your list, so there is no noise to scroll past. 1:22 The Manage events tab is your staff surface. Create the events your battalion hosts, from drill nights to field exercises. Each event carries its own registration list and attendance roster. This is also where you register your unit for events hosted above you. 1:41 Here is the rule that makes the whole system work. Marking a cadet present at an event is the only thing that creates an activity. That one checkmark flows to the cadet's service record and to your battalion's report, all on its own. You never type an activity anywhere else. 2:00 This is the Strength and Activities Report, the SAR. Here is the headline. You never type this report. Strength comes straight from your active roster. Activities come from event attendance. The SAR reads, it never types. 2:19 If a number looks wrong, do not hunt for an edit box. There is none. Fix the source instead. A wrong strength count means the roster needs updating. A missing activity means attendance was never marked on the calendar. Correct the source, and the report follows on its own. 2:40 At the end of the month, review the live figures and close the period. Closing freezes the month's snapshot for the record, files your activity photos, and drafts your Battalion Bulletin for review. Your brigade and division see a read-only rollup of these same numbers. They can attach notes, but they can never edit your figures. 3:03 That is the working loop, and it is short. Keep the roster current as cadets come and go. Mark attendance at every event, because present is what creates the activity. Then verify and close the SAR each month. Do those three things and your battalion's records take care of themselves.
