Transcript 0:00 This is hq.cacadets.org, the California Cadet Corps HQ portal. Everything you do as a commandant starts on this page. You sign in with your cacadets.org Microsoft account, the same account you use for Cadet Corps email. There is no separate portal password. 0:21 When you click that button, Microsoft handles the sign-in, not the portal. So there is no app password to forget. If you ever get stuck, the help is right on this page. And remember, resetting your password always means resetting your cacadets.org Microsoft account password. 0:41 The first time you sign in, the portal asks you to complete your profile. This is a one-time form. Your name and email come straight from your Microsoft account, so you cannot mistype them. Everything else pre-fills forms across the portal, like rental vehicle and facility requests, so you never enter it twice. 1:03 Only two fields are required, your phone number and your gender. Our demo commandant Dana Miller types her phone number and picks her gender with one tap. Gender feeds event headcounts and billeting later, so travel orders never have to ask. Driver license and address are optional, but they save typing on future forms. 1:25 Scroll down and answer the email question, so notifications reach an inbox you actually read. Then press Complete Setup. You can change any of this later from your Profile page. That is the whole form, and you only ever do it once. 1:43 With your profile saved, the portal asks how you serve in the Cadet Corps. Pick the position you actually hold, not the one you hope to hold. Your access is granted from this answer, so accuracy matters. For a school commandant, that is the very first card. 2:02 Check the commandant card, then pick your school from the list. Our demo commandant selects Training Demo Battalion 1, the battalion she actually runs. If your school already has a commandant, the portal says so and offers the assistant commandant option instead. You can add other roles to the same request, like a brigade staff job. 2:26 When you submit, a Super Admin reviews the request, and you get an email either way. Approval places you in your real billet on the manning table, and that single step grants your unit, your tools, and your scope. Some accounts are pre-provisioned, meaning HQ already slotted you before your first sign-in. If that is you, this page just shows your waiting position and asks you to confirm it. 2:53 Your role is approved, but one gate remains before the portal opens. Every adult must have a current POSH certificate on file. That is Prevention of Sexual Harassment training, an annual requirement. The portal stays locked until your certificate is in. 3:12 The steps are simple. Open the training from this link, complete it, and save your completion certificate. Then upload the certificate right here. The portal reads it and confirms the date automatically. If anything looks uncertain, a human reviews it, and you are unlocked as soon as it verifies. 3:33 Certificate verified, and the portal opens onto your dashboard. Across the top you see one tile for each level you belong to, named for your actual unit. As a battalion commandant you land on your battalion. Click a tile and that level's tools unfold right on the page, no reload. 3:54 Modules are grouped the way a staff works, by shop. S1 holds personnel tools like the roster and promotions. S3 holds training and the activity calendar. S4 holds supply and the property book. If you are not sure where something lives, ask yourself which staff officer would own it. 4:16 One more stop before you go, your profile. Open My Profile any time to see your account the way the portal sees it. Your name, your email, your rank, and your billet all show here. The billet comes straight from the manning document, so if your role changes, this page changes with it. 4:37 The fields below are yours to keep current. Press Edit to update your position, phone number, driver license, mailing address, and emergency contact. Travel orders and claim notifications pull from these fields automatically, so accurate details here save you paperwork later. 4:57 The Training tab tracks the built-in portal walkthroughs you have completed. The Certificates tab holds your POSH and other required certificates, with their expiration dates, and it is where you upload a renewal. When a certificate is close to expiring, this is the place to check first. 5:16 My Orders lists every travel order written for you, and the 201 File tab is your personal personnel file, the same documents State keeps on record. You never have to wonder what is on file for you. It is all right here. 5:32 And that is the whole journey, from a sign-in button to a working seat. Sign in with Microsoft, complete your onboarding once, request your real position, clear the POSH gate, and keep your profile current. In the next video we open the three modules a commandant lives in, the roster, the calendar, and the strength and activities report.
